Introducing the Iowa Black Powder Federation (IBPF)

Annual Postal Match

Rules:

    The rules are simple and easy but please read thoroughly.  This match is re-entry $1 per IBPF approved target from now until September 1, 2013 (post marked no later than).  You can get targets by contacting Norma Holcomb at norma.holcomb@q.com, by writing to the following address, or at any of our IBPF shooting events (all targets $1 each postage included).

Scoring will be per NMLRA rules.

    Targets will also be available prior to 9/1/2013.

    Rules of the competition: Targets are to be posted at 25 yards and shot from the “off-hand” position.  5 shots on paper (3 in first bull, 2 in the second).  Any of the following categories may be selected:  Percussion, Flintlock, Military Musket, Smoothbore, Sighted Smoothbore, In-line, Muzzleloading Handgun (Percussion - Flint - Revolver).  Equipment criterion as follows:

  • Percussion and Flintlock must have open sights
  • Musket to meet NMLRA requirements
  • Smoothboore - .54 Cal or larger, no rear sights
  • Signted Smoothboore - any smoothboore with open sights
  • In-line (must be in-line) with any sights including scope, any projectile
  • Muzzleloading Handgun - percussion, flint, or revolver, one hand hold.

    Awards:  First, second, and third places IBPF shooting medals will be awarded in each category after the 9/1/2013 closing date.  Winners will also be recognized in the “IBPF News” section of the “Powder Horn News” and the IBPF website (http://iowablackpowderfederation.net).  

    That’s it!... you don’t have to be a member of any organization or club… just HAVE FUN!  Use these targets to sharpen your skills when practicing, compete with friends on “off-shoot” weekends, or use them as warm-up targets at other events that allow practice targets.
